Trent Rockets Women win maiden Hundred title after dominant eight-wicket victory against Sunrisers Leeds 

Trent Rockets Women claimed the title of The Hundred 2026 champions after registering an eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Leeds in the final at Lord’s. Chasing a meager 91 set by the opponents, Rockets posted 92/2 in 54 balls to register a victory with 46 balls remaining. Trent Rockets Women’s bowlers did a fantastic job as they restricted the determined Sunrisers Leeds to 91/7 in 91 balls. Georgia Adams and Charley Phillips took two wickets each as Sunrisers failed to post a challenging total. Annabel Sutherland remained the top scorer for Sunrisers as she remained unbeaten on 25 while Danielle Gibson scored 22 runs before being dismissed.

Sophia Dunkley and Beth Mooney laid the winning foundation as the former remained unbeaten on 41 while the latter remained on 31. Dunkley and Mooney’s aggressive batting saw Rockets reaching the target in only 54 balls. Ashleigh Gardner’s Rockets Women finished as the runners-up in the inaugural Hundred 2022. However, after posting a fantastic league win, a seventh consecutive victory in all competitions, and finishing top of the table with a match win against Birmingham Phoenix, they made it to the final once again. This victory was even more special for Ashleigh Gardner as her team pulled off a fantastic turnaround from the previous campaign to win their first-ever Hundred final.

“It’s been a real group effort”: Nat Sciver-Brunt celebrates Trent Rockets’ triumph over Sunrisers Leeds 

Nat Sciver-Brunt credited Trent Rockets’ collective effort after they secured their maiden women’s Hundred title with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Leeds at Lord’s. The Rockets restricted the defending champions to 91 before chasing the target in just 54 balls. Sophia Dunkley top-scored with 41 off 23, while Beth Mooney remained unbeaten on 31 from 21. Speaking after the victory, the accomplished England all-rounder highlighted how every player contributed to the successful campaign. “Everyone sort of chipped in, so it’s sort of been a real group effort, which makes it so satisfying to be here walking a lap as winners,” she said. 

The experienced campaigner also explained how the team established a successful formula early in the tournament and remained committed to it throughout. “I think everyone’s really bought into the way we wanted to go about it. We’ve had a few people in form as well, so yeah, it’s been a great experience. And like you say, it’s probably quite unique that it has happened so well,” Sciver-Brunt said. She also admitted that contributions from teammates may have helped her enjoy her own cricket more. “Yeah, maybe. I also like being in pressure moments and being able to be the one to perform as well, but like you say, we’ve had so many different people contribute. We’ve just been really enjoying it, to be honest. So yeah, loving my time.”
