Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently appointed Babar Azam as Pakistan’s skipper in the limited-overs format. Babar got an extension of the format by succeeding former ODI captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

According to a report by PTI, Babar said that he will implement Imran Khan’s aggression in his captaincy. He also added that he will also brush up his English communication skill to be a complete leader.

“Imran Khan was a very aggressive captain and I want to be like him. It is not an easy job captaining the Pakistan team but I am learning from my seniors and I have also had captaincy experience since my under-19 days,”

Babar Azam said.

Captaincy challenge but won’t affect my batting

The 25-year old player added in his statement that he won’t be getting affected by his new role although it’s a challenge.

“It is an honour to lead one’s national team so it is not a burden for me at all. In fact, after becoming captain, I have to lead by example and be more responsible in my batting,” Babar Azam was quoted by PTI .

He also hoped that T20 World Cup would be held in its already scheduled time since he was keen to play and doing well in the tournament.

Learning skill to be a complete leader

The star Pakistani batsman believes that a complete leader should able to interact well with media and also express himself the best with its audience and thus he is learning English.

“These days I am also taking English classes besides focussing on my batting,” he said on Monday.

Concluding his statement, the newly appointed captain said he wants his team to go up in the ranking as the current position is not satisfactory.
