India vs England Series 2021: Cricket returns to the country after 10 months

England tour to India has been announced. The BCCI and ECB released the schedule of 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20 matches between India and England on Wednesday. The Test series will begin on February 5. At the same time, the last two Tests including the Pink Ball Test will be played at Motera, the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad. At the same time, the 3-match ODI series will be played in Pune.

A team is coming to India after 10 months because of Corona. Earlier in March, South Africa visited India. The ODI series played between the two had to be canceled due to Corona.

India-England match to be played in 3 stadiums

The BCCI finalized just 3 Venues for the India tour of England keeping Corona in mind. The first 2 Tests will be played in Chennai. At the same time, the remaining 2 Tests will be played in Ahmedabad. After this, a 5 match T20 series will be played from March 12. The last match of the T20 series will be played on 20 March. At the same time, the ODI series will begin on March 23. The last match of the ODI series will be played on 28 March.

Safety protocol will be taken care of

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that the board will take full care of the safety and health of both the teams during the series. Also, the agreement between the BCCI and the England Cricket Board regarding the safety protocol will be taken full care of. With this series, cricket will also return to India. Which is good news for fans.

Cricket was completely closed in India for the last ten months because of Corona. The last time South Africa visited India was in March 2020. The first match of the 3 match ODI series was rained down in Dharamsala. After this, the tour of the African team had to be canceled due to Corona.

The IPL could not be organized in the country because of Corona. Later BCCI got it done in UAE. The tournament took place from 19 September to 10 November. Mumbai Indians won the championship for a record 5th time.

Series of 5 T20 matches to prepare for World Cup

Earlier, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said that England will play a series of 5 T20, 3 One-Day and 4 Test matches against India on their tour. Ganguly had said, ‘T20 World Cup will also be played in India next year. In such a situation, Kohli and his team will get full opportunity to prepare through a 5-match T20 series against a team like England.
