Regarding his determination McIlroy said, “I’ve had my fair share of near-misses at the Masters over the years and those moments are tough at the time, but they’re also the ones that push you on, make you work harder and remind you not to give up.”
Additionally, this victory was significant since it came after a long period of time since McIlroy first came close to accomplishing the feat. In an interview, Rory stated that the victory was very emotional and had been anticipated for a long time. Lando Norris was awarded the Breakthrough of the Year accolade following his first-ever Formula 1 World Championship. In the 2025 season, he narrowly beat his teammate Oscar Piastri and four-time world champion Max Verstappen in the championship battle in a tense title fight.
On being a World-Champion, Norris said, “Winning the world championship is something I dreamed about since I was young, so to win my first in 2025 is pretty special.”
