As game week 30 of the Premier League came to an end, Liverpool‘s wait to lift the title increased a bit with second-placed Manchester City winning their fixture and the Merseyside derby ending in a tame draw.
The race for European places and the fight for survival also intensified with just eight more game weeks remaining in the season.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek 30. The formation used is 4-3-3.
Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City)
Kasper Schmeichel is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and was only beaten by a world-class goal by Craig Dawson in injury-time as the game between Leicester City and Watford ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Danish shot-stopper made the most number of saves in the game (3) and kept the Foxes in the match at Vicarage Road.
Right-back: Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)
The Chelsea captain was at his very best as his side came from a goal down to beat Aston Villa 2-1.
The right-back provided the assists for both goals as Chelsea struck twice in quick succession in the second half to complete the comeback.
Cesar Azpilicueta now has two goals and five assists to his name in the Premier League this season.
Centre-back: Craig Dawson (Watford)
The centre-back’s first goal of the season couldn’t have come at a better time for Watford as they managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat against Leicester City in their quest for survival in the Premier League.
Craig Dawson also made the highest number of blocks in the game (3).
The Hornets, who are 16th on the league table, are not safe by any means as they are just a point and two places ahead of the relegations spots.
Centre-back: Lewis Dunk (Brighton and Hove Albion)
The centre-back was a telling presence in both halves of the field against Arsenal as Brighton managed to secure an important 2-1 win over the Gunners in their fight for survival.
Lewis Dunk scored the equaliser from a set-piece which sparked the comeback for the Seagulls.
It was the 28-year-old’s third Premier League goal of the season.
Left-back: Ben Chilwell (Leicester City)
Ben Chilwell scored a stunning goal to give Leicester City the lead against Watford.
The goal looked to have sealed the win for the Foxes before Craig Dawson scored a late equaliser for the hosts.
Chilwell, who is one of the most highly-rated left-backs in the division, has been heavily linked with a move away from Leicester this summer, with Chelsea interested in him.
Defensive midfielder: Luka Milivojevic (Crystal Palace)
The Serbian international was decisive at both ends of the pitch in Crystal Palace’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
Luka Milivojevic scored a brilliant goal and also helped his side keep a clean sheet. It was the Crystal Palace captain’s third goal of the season.
Central midfielder: Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
The Portuguese midfielder has changed Manchester United’s fortunes since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January.
The 1-1 draw against Tottenham was no different as Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot to help the Red Devils earn a point after trailing for the majority of the match.
He also managed to muster the most number of shots on target in the game (3).
It was his third Premier League goal in just his sixth appearance; he has also provided three assists.
Central midfielder: Phil Foden (Manchester City)
Phil Foden was at his fluent best against Burnley as he showed why he is so highly rated by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens put up a masterclass as they thrashed Burnley 5-0, and Foden was at the centre for everything.
The 20-year-old scored two goals and also managed the highest number of take-ons by a City player in the game (2).
Right-wing: Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City)
The Algerian international was in sparkling form against Burnley as he scored a brace in the 60 minutes he played.
Riyad Mahrez scored a stunning goal in the 43rd minute before converting a penalty just before the half-time interval.
He has now scored nine goals in 25 Premier League appearances this season.
Left-wing: Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle United)
Allan Saint-Maximin has shown flashes of brilliance since joining Newcastle United from Nice last summer.
The winger was a constant threat throughout the game against Sheffield United, with the Frenchman scoring the opening goal for his side.
Saint-Maximin could have scored more as the Magpies comfortably won the match by a 3-0 scoreline.
Striker: Olivier Giroud (Chelsea)
The French World cup winner justified Frank Lampard’s faith in him by scoring the winning goal in the Blues’ 2-1 triumph over Aston Villa.
Olivier Giroud, who has mostly placed second fiddle to Tammy Abraham this season, took his chance with both hands and showed his quality with some brilliant hold-up throughout the game.
