Lewis Hamilton’s Seven-Title Response Turns Heads Ahead of Barcelona GP

A clear message has been delivered to Lewis Hamilton’s critics in the form of an outright challenge as to why he is still one of the most prolific drivers in F1. The current Ferrari driver, who has tied the record of winning seven world championships, has stated that there was a reason for him being at the top when some of his competitors hadn’t even lifted a trophy in their entire careers. The statement comes from the British ace after recording his best start to a season since 2021. Following a string of poor performances due to previous rules, Hamilton has now found himself fighting again for the championship.

According to Hamilton, “I know what it takes for a team to win, and I know many people that I work with know what it takes to have won championships in the past, and my sole goal is to help them and me to get to where we ultimately, I truly believe we can get to, and deserve to be.”

The driver, who is currently sitting in second place in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship following six races, has managed to secure three podium places, with back-to-back second-place finishes in Canada and Monaco. Hamilton attributes his success to his increased fitness level, better health, and a Ferrari car that he helped design. Consequently, speculation about Hamilton retiring is no more.

‘Never Say Never’ – Lewis Hamilton Offers Verdict on F1 Title Chances Ahead of Barcelona GP

Hamilton isn’t ready to count himself out of the championship race, even though he’s trailing Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli by 66 points. Antonelli has been on fire this season, racking up five straight wins, but Hamilton insists the title fight is still very much alive. He points out that only six races have been run, and there’s plenty of time for things to shift in the standings. Plus, he’s noticed Ferrari’s recent improvements, which he believes show the team is heading in the right direction.

Hamilton is confident that Ferrari can close the gap with ongoing development. He praised the team’s strong downforce package as he said, “We’re going to have to double up, make sure that we’re always one step ahead of everyone in terms of advancing so we can go through the corners quicker and catch up the deficit we may lose down the straights.”

The seven-time champion emphasized that his experience is a huge advantage, stating he knows what it takes to clinch titles and build winning teams. With Ferrari gaining momentum and Hamilton consistently finishing on the podium, he remains determined to pursue a record-breaking eighth world championship.
