Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan, who is currently serving a one-year ban from the game for failing to report the corrupt approaches to ICC, feels there is a need of discussion over some points in the ICC back to cricket guidelines.
According to a report by PTI, the veteran player raised a few questions that he thinks should be reconsidered. He also discussed about the ban he is serving currently and the pain he is suffering for the same.
Don’t think ICC will take a chance
The star performer for Bangladesh in 2019 ODI World Cup, said what will be the minimum distance the players would be following since the latest reports say a distance of two or three metres is not enough.
“They will stand at their ends? Won’t there be any crowd in the stadium? Will the wicket-keeper stand afar? What would happen to close-in fielders? These things require discussions,” the all rounder was quoted by ‘Prothom Alo’ newspaper.
While raising a few more questions on how the players would be coping up the situation, he maintained that ICC would not take a chance to resume the action without being so sure about the circumstances.
“I don’t think they (ICC) will take a chance before they are very sure. Whatever it is, life comes first. I am sure they will think of safety first,” Shakib-Al-Hasan said.
Tough days to survive through
Speaking further the former skipper said that it’s a tough time for him as he is waiting for his ban to end also.
“I am counting days in two ways. One, when will corona be over, and the other, when will my suspension end. I am going through a tough time. Although there’s no cricket going on anywhere, I know that if it starts tomorrow, I won’t be able to play cricket,” added Shakib-Al-Hasan.
