What is ETPL? Format and Venues
The European T20 Premier League is an exciting new men’s T20 competition that’s been given the green light by the ICC. It’s a collaborative effort between Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland, and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association. Mark your calendars for the inaugural edition, which is set to take place from August 26 to September 20, 2026, over a thrilling 26-day period. The matches will be held in a variety of locations across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. Some of the confirmed venues include the Malahide Cricket Club Ground, Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Sportpark Westvliet, The Grange Club, and Stormont Cricket Ground.
This tournament will showcase six city-based teams competing in a total of 33 matches. Teams will face off in a round-robin format, with the top performers moving on to the playoffs. Winning a match will earn a team two points, while a tie or no result will give them one point. If teams end up with the same number of points, the Net Run Rate will come into play to determine their standings. Each playing XI must consist of at least seven players from European ICC Associate nations, and teams can include up to four international stars in their lineup.
Which are the ETPL teams?

This impressive lineup of owners, which includes former international cricketers, business moguls, and sports investors, really highlights the league’s goal of creating a robust and sustainable cricket ecosystem throughout Europe.
