If selectors are scouting for India’s future stars, here are five uncapped Indian players who have earned their credentials for consideration in the national setup.
They have not made their case solely based on a single performance in either domestic or international league games. These young talents have established themselves through domestic form followed by impressive IPL performances. Let’s examine five uncapped Indian players who have made the strongest case for their inclusion in the Indian team.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Rajasthan Royals)
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the main talking point of IPL 2026. The teenager from Rajasthan Royals has shown his guts and nerve while facing top-quality bowlers.
He has made 404 runs in his first 10 games at an average of 40.40. His strike rate has exceeded 230 on many occasions. He also hit a hundred and delivered scintillating knocks of 78 off 26 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and 52 off 17 against Chennai Super Kings.
In earlier months, he was selected as Player of the Tournament in the Under-19 World Cup, where he amassed 439 runs, including an incredible 175 in the final. India could have unearthed its next T20 opener.
Priyansh Arya (Punjab Kings)
Priyansh Arya has turned powerplay batting into an art form. The Punjab Kings opener has continued his attacking run from IPL 2025 and remains one of the most dangerous batters in the tournament.
He has scored 286 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate above 240. His best knock was a 93 off 37 balls against Lucknow Super Giants, featuring nine sixes.
Arya had already scored 475 runs in IPL 2025. With his ability to take apart bowling attacks from ball one, he looks tailor-made for India’s T20 setup.
Ashok Sharma (Gujarat Titans)
The pace bowler from Rajasthan has brought real speed to the bowling unit of Gujarat Titans. He has been one of the fastest bowlers of IPL 2026.
He bowled the fastest delivery of the tournament at a speed of 154.2 kilometers per hour. Ashok has bagged six wickets in just six games of the competition. Along with his pace, he has also made use of some good slower deliveries and yorkers.
Ashok made his name in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he took 22 wickets. There have always been demands for bowlers in India who could regularly touch 145+.
Kartik Sharma (Chennai Super Kings)
Kartik Sharma has quietly established himself as a dependable middle-order batter for Chennai Super Kings.
After a slow start, he has scored 153 runs in seven matches and registered his maiden IPL fifty with an unbeaten 54 against Mumbai Indians. He followed it with 41 not out against Delhi Capitals.
The Rajasthan batter was highly productive in domestic cricket, including 445 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His calm approach and ability to handle spin make him a strong prospect for India’s white-ball squads.
Auqib Nabi (Delhi Capitals)
While Auqib Nabi’s figures in IPL have not been impressive, his domestic performance makes him too good to be overlooked.
The fast bowler from Jammu & Kashmir is still yet to take any wickets in three matches in IPL for Delhi Capitals. On the contrary, Auqib’s season with the red ball has been outstanding. The pacer picked 60 wickets in 10 Ranji Trophy matches and played an important part in Jammu & Kashmir winning the trophy.
