Carlos ‘Smooth Operator’ Sainz recently won the Mexican Grand Prix, after qualifying on Pole at the Mexico City Circuit. The Spanish driver, displayed an amazing mastery over the SF24 and the Mexico City Circuit to tale the victory at the Mexican Grand Prix, last Sunday.
Beautiful moves by the Smooth Operator
Carlos Sainz had lost his position to Max Verstappen in the 1st lap of the race. While that happened, Yuki Tsunoda went into the wall at Turn 1, causing a Yellow Flag.
The race restarted in lap 7, with Max in front. In lap 9, Carlos had the DRS advantage, and he used it magnificently. Using Verstappen’s slipstream and the extra speed from the DRS, Sainz made child’s play of Verstappen as he passed the champion into the first turn.
From then on, Carlos Sainz drove perfect laps after perfect laps. Staying ahead of Verstappen and soon his teammate, the Golden Boy of Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, very smoothly.
Challenge to Ferrari
Carlos Sainz, it seemed, was challenging both Ferrari and Charles Leclerc. During an interview after qualifying, he had remarked that he felt bittersweet at the fact that Ferrari is now in a position to be a Championship contender this year and the next, and that he will not be a part of the team anymore.
Here’s a fact. Carlos Sainz has nothing to prove to Ferrari anymore, but he still wants the world to know that though Leclerc may be the Golden Boy, and though Ferrari think of him as dispensable in front of the 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, he is not one to give up or back down. He is out to prove his worth to the world; he is out to prove that Carlos Sainz is not a second option, Carlos Sainz is the first option when it comes to choosing a driver.

Carlos Sainz has taken two victories this season, the first at Australia, after returning from an appendicitis operation, and the second at the Mexican Grand Prix.
The SF24 is performing spectacularly recently, since the Italian Grand Prix, and Carlos used that to his advantage. At the Mexican Grand Prix, the Ferrari’s had the best pace of all the teams, and with Carlos out in front of the pack, it would have been great misfortune if he had lost.
The ‘El Matador’ wrestled with the Bull from the very start of the race, and won after 10 laps. Carlos Sainz took home a victory, where a victory was not expected.
Another great day for the Tifosi
It may have been a bittersweet day for the Spanish driver, but for the Tifosi, it was another day of celebration. Ferrari has won a total of 5 races this season now, but have lost too many to bad strategy or a botched pit stop by the team.
What has Carlos Sainz given Ferrari?
The drivers have done their best to maximize the result with however the car performs this season. Especially Sainz, he was the one who helped Charles Leclerc get his home race win at Monaco. It Carlos Sainz, who came back after just a week of rest from an operation to take the win from the dominant Max Verstappen.
It was the ‘El Matador’ who held down the fort for Charles Leclerc in Monza, by defending and killing pace and tires on the McLaren’s. Carlos is responsible for the win in Texas as well.
Of course, the win at the Spanish speaking country, full of fans of Sergio Perez, was also won by the Spaniard Carlos Sainz.
What the imminent future holds with just 4 races remaining
Carlos Sainz has already shown what he can do when put in the seat of a Ferrari. With only 4 races to go, Carlos has it in him to win again.
Ferrari are ahead of Red Bull now, in the Constructors’ Championship. Sainz himself is 5th in the Drivers’ Championship. If Sainz wins again, he stands to move up in the Championship, surpassing Piastri, and if Leclerc is right behind him, Ferrari stand a chance of winning the Constructors’ race.
If anyone can do it, the ‘El Matador’ Carlos Smooth Operator Sainz can.
