Virat Kohli in Forbes List of top 100 highest-paid athletes second time in a row

One of the modern-day cricketing greats and Indian skipper Virat Kohli featured in the list of Forbes Magazine’s top 100 highest-paid athletes of 2020. According to Forbes, Kohli had estimated total earnings of $26 million ($24m from endorsements and $2m from salary/winnings).

The batting dynamo is the only Indian athlete to featured in this year’s list ranked at 66, making a jump of over 30 places since he was ranked last in the 100 list, reported Hindustan Times.

Factors of the Forbes calculation

The list is tabulated by calculating the athletes’ revenue, including prize money, salaries, contract bonuses, endorsements, royalties, and appearance fees from June 1, 2019, until June 1, 2020.

Notably, this is the second instance in a row when Virat Kohli has been included in the list. With an estimated earning of $25 million Virat was positioned 100th in 2019 list.

Tennis legend Roger Federer tops the list

The 100 highest paid athletes’ of 2020 list which is put forward by Forbes Magazine was topped by the Swiss Star Roger Federer with an estimated $106.3 million earned over the period.

Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka is the highest paid female athlete in the list with $37.4 million making an overall 29th position in the top 100 list.
