Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma brought out the filmy version of himself in the most unexpected and entertaining way on Sony Entertainment Television show Family Full House. A recent promotional clip shared on social media shows the host Rohit Sharma is put on the spot by a fan question displayed on the big screen requesting the cricketer to recite Bollywood star Suniel Shetty’s iconic dialogue.
“Rohit sir aap Suniel sir ke do iconic dialogue bolo na, Suniel sir help pls,” it read.
The cricketer delivered the classic line from Dhadkan, playfully addressing his wife and repeated after Sunil Shetty, “Ritika, tum mujhe bhool jao yeh ho nahi sakta, aur main tumhe bhool jaaun yeh main hone nahi doonga.”
This video went viral on social media with fans loving the interaction. Suniel has also openly called himself the “Hitman FANCLUB ke PRESIDENT” in clips from the same episode, showing just how much mutual respect and banter exists between the two. The episode featuring Suniel Shetty and Neha Dhupia was telecasted in Family Full House on 27th September.
Rohit Sharma’s quickfire 32 sets up India’s comfortable win over West Indies
In the first ODI against West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Rohit Sharma opened the batting and scored 32 runs off 35 balls including 2 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 91.43. The former Indian captain and Shubman Gill gave India a solid start in the chase of 296. The pair put on 74 runs for the opening wicket. Rohit set the tone early, driving the first ball of the innings for four and later launching spinner Gudakesh Motie for a six. He also survived an unsuccessful LBW review.
The opening stand was broken in the 12th over when Alzarri Joseph dismissed him. Rohit miscued a flick and was caught by Jewel Andrew at deep square leg. At that point India were 74/1. Although Rohit’s stay was relatively short, his aggressive intent helped India race to 70 without loss in the powerplay and laid a strong platform. Shubman Gill (110) and Virat Kohli (139*) then took over, helping India to a comfortable eight-wicket victory in just 41.4 overs.
