Following their opening day defeat to Crystal Palace, Manchester United have recovered with a run of positive results. The Premier League giants beat Brighton twice in the last week, once in the league and once in the League Cup, and are coming into the game on the back of some good form.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur knocked Chelsea out of the League Cup on penalties on Tuesday night and beat Maccabi Haifa 7-2 on Thursday night to make it to the group stage of the Europa League.
But Jose Mourinho’s last league outing was a disappointing 1-1 draw that saw them concede a contentious last-minute penalty to Newcastle United at home last weekend.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur: Prediction
Manchester United have looked off the pace in the Premier League due to a vastly curtained pre-season that saw some of the players only training for a week before being thrown into competitive football. They will need to be sharper and more on the game if they have to beat Tottenham at home on Sunday.
Spurs are facing a different kind of challenge due to fixture congestion that saw them play three games in five days. Jose Mourinho has moaned about his team being overplayed and is afraid of losing players to injuries in the coming weeks.
But Mourinho is likely to field his strongest eleven at Old Trafford if his top stars are fit and will be looking to catch Manchester United cold as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have looked short of fitness in recent games.
Solskjaer will hope his side play better than their last home game when they lost to Crystal Palace. His side will be desperate to get the first win in their bag at Old Trafford when Tottenham visit them on Sunday.
Manchester United vs Tottenham predicted scoreline: 2-1
