The Warwickshire Bears have bolstered their lineup by bringing in Indian opener Pratika Rawal for the rest of the 2026 domestic season. The 25-year-old batter is set to join the English county team just in time for the upcoming round of Metro Bank One-Day Cup matches, kicking off on August 19. Her addition is particularly crucial as Warwickshire aims for a spot in the knockout stages of the competition. This signing also marks Rawal’s comeback to competitive cricket following a stint on the sidelines due to injury, providing a much-needed lift for both her and the club as they head into the final stretch of the season.
Rawal welcomed the opportunity to play county cricket and said she was excited to represent Warwickshire. She said, “I’ve heard so many good things about the Club, and I’m excited to get started and to try and help the team as much as I can. It’s going to be a great experience for me to test myself playing in England. Walking out at Edgbaston, which is such an iconic ground in world cricket, is also something I’m looking forward to.”

Warwickshire Back Pratika Rawal for Crucial One-Day Cup Tournament
The signing comes on the heels of Rawal’s recovery from a knee injury that kept her out of India’s one-off Test against England at Lord’s earlier this month. She picked up the injury while playing for India A against England A in Taunton on July 1, which required stitches and unfortunately sidelined her from that landmark Test. Now that she’s back in action, the right-hander is set to make her return just as Warwickshire gears up for a critical phase in their Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.
Currently sitting fifth in the points table, Warwickshire is still in the hunt for a top-three finish, which would guarantee them a spot in the knockout stage. The club is optimistic that Rawal’s addition will bolster their batting lineup as the competition heats up. Head coach Ali Maiden expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, noting that a player of Rawal’s caliber would enhance the team’s depth and boost their chances of finishing the season on a high note.
Since making her international debut in December 2024, Rawal has quickly established an impressive record. She became the fastest woman to reach 500 ODI runs, accomplishing this feat in just eight innings. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in India’s triumphant 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup campaign, amassing 308 runs to become the tournament’s leading run-scorer, although she missed the final due to injury. Her standout performances included a vital century against New Zealand in a must-win match.
