How much money will PSL winners and runners-up earn?

The eyes of the cricket world are glued to the Pakistan Super League, which is all set to witness its climactic conclusion in terms of its richest ever prize pool. For this year, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has modified its reward system and made sure that a lot of money will be at stake in this edition. In fact, the winners will get $500,000 as the franchise reward, in addition to another $500,000 for players. The runners-up, on the other hand, will be taking home $300,000 each. In total, there is a prize money of $1.5 million this time, making this one of the richest editions yet

In the final match, Peshawar Zalmi is going to play against Hyderabad Kingsmen. Zalmi has made it to the final once again after being absent from it for four long years due to its stellar performance. On the contrary, this is the first season of Hyderabad Kingsmen, who have surprised everyone by making their way into the summit clash through two consecutive knockouts.

PSL Prize Money

CategoryAmount (USD)
Winners (Franchise) 500,000

Winners (Players Prize Pool) 500,000
Runners-up (Franchise) 300,000

Best Player Development (Franchise) 200,000
Total Prize Pool 1,500,000

PSL Prize Amount

The proposed reward system makes a distinction between the franchises’ and the players’ prizes. While the winners take home a cheque worth USD 500,000, the players split a sum total of USD 500,000 equally among themselves. Runners up get to take away USD 300,000 each. Furthermore, there is a sum of USD 200,000 set aside for the franchise with the best talent-development initiative.

According to exchange rates, the winners can be estimated to earn around ₹14 crore, while the runners up will walk away with around ₹8.3 crore. In contrast to past seasons, this amounts to a big jump in terms of prizes. Prize money was lower in earlier seasons and was more inclined towards rewarding the teams than providing any kind of incentive scheme.

PSL Sponsors

PSL’s success has largely depended on the effective sponsorship support it received. The main sponsor of the title sponsorship has been HBL from its inception. The contract has grown to be worth millions, which is a testament to the increasing popularity and profitability of the competition.

The financial aid provided has enabled the league to improve its position. Higher cash prizes, infrastructure development, and worldwide publicity have come as a result of it. The new prize structure is yet another step towards achieving that goal.
