Danish Kaneria, former Pakistan leg spinner who has been banned for life for ‘match irregularities’ by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), is now pleading with PCB to lift the life ban.
He questioned Pakistan Cricket Board’s motive behind sidelining him and said that if almost all the players who have been involved in similar cases were allowed to play in international or domestic cricket why he couldn’t.
Something fishy going behind
Former Pakistani spinner, who played 61 Tests and 18 ODIs, in the chat said that no one is ready to hear him out even after trying constantly.
“..I tried to meet everyone but denied. From Board’s chairman to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaj Sharif. But none of them responded positively,” said Danish Kaneria
“What was done was wrong and should not have done that. It was a mistake but the way the parent board (PCB) is not willing to take my case says that something is fishy going behind.”
No other Source of employment
The leg-spinner further said that he has left with no other option of income and livelihood and thus requested PCB to take his case and allow him to use his art of leg spin for coaching.
“I want to use the art of leg spin to coach and train players of future generations. I regret what I have done in the past but now I want to do something that people could remember always.”
Concluding his statement he said that he has even deceived by the channels where he participated as cricket expert.
“They had refused to pay me for my work and thus left with no other option, I decided to found my channel on YouTube and earn from there.”
