After the slow and disciplined bowling, David Warner, Hyderabad, with the help of half-centuries of Jani Bairsta, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in the IPL match to return to victory.
In the match of CSKvsSRH IPL2019, Without Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings was batting first, could score only 132 runs on five wickets.
Hyderabad, who lost the last three matches in reply, reached the target in 16.5 overs with the help of Warner and Bairsta half-centuries.
It was the second defeat in nine matches of Chennai and he is still at the top with 14 points.
Sunrisers have moved up to eight points in eight matches, with four wins & having 5th position till 17th April 2019.
In place of Dhoni, Suresh Raina captained Chennai. They decided to bat by winning the toss which proved to be wrong. The Sunrisers bowled five wickets in 22 runs.
Opener Faf du Plessis made 45 off 31 balls while Shane Watson (31) shared a 79-run partnership.
Ambati Rayudu, who was not selected in the World Cup squad, remained unbeaten on 25 runs in 21 balls.
Leg-spinner Rashid Khan took two wickets for 17 runs in four overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave 21 runs but could not take wickets while Khalil Ahmed took one wicket for 22 runs. In the first over, Bhuvneshwar gave a single run.
Khalil got only three runs in the first over. Du Plessis cracked Khalil in the fourth over and removed the pressure.
Watson hit four fours in his innings while du Plessis hit two sixes. Chennai’s score was 79 in ten overs. After this left-handed spinner, Shahbaz Nadeem bowled Watson. After Watson’s dismissal, a batsman could not tickle.
