Could Esteban Ocon get replaced mid season in 2026?

For a driver that is so hugely talented albeit one that hasn’t sadly found a dominant car as on date, a question certainly arises where it concerns a certain Esteban Ocon! And it’s that how much time does the Frenchman actually have in the top flight of MotorSport?

But first up, some numbers!

From the 4 Grands Prix to have taken place so far, Ocon has managed to finish in points in just one singular race.

It being the Japanese Grand Prix, where the Haas driver managed a respectable P10 (his teammate had a DNF in that very same race)!

But here’s what may come to haunt the noted F1 driver

With two very healthy and notable race results, one each at China and Australia, Ocon’s
teammate Bearman who gathered a P5 and P7, respectively, has managed to impress the fans with his talent and drive.

Esteban Ocon not so much! Which is why perhaps it makes sense to state the following-

For a sport that has always demanded results, consistency and the ability to deliver when it matters most, Formula 1 isn’t exactly the easiest place to survive when things aren’t going your way. And right now, it does feel as though that very pressure is beginning to build steadily around Esteban Ocon.

And perhaps, quite seriously.
Because what we are seeing at the moment isn’t just a minor dip in form. It’s something that is beginning to raise questions. Questions that, under normal circumstances, may not have even been asked. But here we are.

But first, a bit of context.

In the opening four races of the season, Ocon has managed to score just a single point. Just one. And while that, in itself, may not always tell the full story, the comparison alongside his teammate does make things a bit more difficult to ignore.

Oliver Bearman, driving the same machinery, already has 17 points to his name.

That’s not just a gap.

That’s quite a difference.
And naturally, in a sport like Formula 1, such differences do tend to attract attention. Especially from within the team.
There have been murmurs, reports if you will, suggesting that things may not be entirely smooth inside the Haas setup. Team principal Ayao Komatsu, it is believed, hasn’t been too pleased with how things have unfolded so far. And following another difficult weekend in Miami, where points once again remained out of reach, the situation doesn’t seem to have eased.

If anything, it may have intensified.
Adding further weight to this was the observation made by Brazilian journalist Julianne Cerasoli, who hinted that the situation is serious.

Her remarks suggested that Komatsu isn’t particularly aligned with Ocon at this stage, and that the French driver’s position might not be as secure as one would expect at this point of the season.
Now that does lead to an important question.

Is this just a phase? Something Ocon can recover from? Or is this the beginning of a bigger concern?

Because in Formula 1, it rarely stays about form alone. It quickly becomes about outcomes. About results. And when those don’t come, the conversations begin to change.

From backing… to questioning.
And sometimes, from questioning… to replacing. Which brings us to a rather uncomfortable thought.

Could Haas actually consider making a change before the season ends?

It’s not unheard of. The sport has seen such decisions before.

And so, the question remains.

Will Esteban Ocon see out the full season?

At this point, it doesn’t feel like a certainty.
