Goalkeeper: Jiri Pavlenka (Werder Bremen)

The 28-year-old shot-stopper was at his very best against Freiburg as he helped his team to a much-needed 1-0 win to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

The Czech Republic international made seven saves throughout the game and kept a clean sheet to make sure that Werder Bremen remain within touching distance of 16th-placed Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Right-back: Achraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund)

The 21-year-old Moroccan international, who is on loan from Real Madrid, is arguably one of the best right-backs in the Bundesliga 2019-20. Achraf Hakimi has been consistent throughout the season for Dortmund and the 2-0 win over Wolfsburg was no different.

The youngster, who helped his side keep a clean sheet, also scored his fourth goal of the season. Hakimi also completed the second-highest number of passes (75) in the game.

Centre-back: Dedryck Boyata (Hertha Berlin)

The Belgian international enjoyed a great outing at the Berlin derby as Hertha Berlin humiliated Union Berlin 4-0.

Appearing in his 22nd Bundesliga 2019-20 game of the season, Dedryck Boyata helped Hertha Berlin keep a clean sheet and scored his fourth league goal of the season. He also made the highest number of passes in the game.

Centre-back: Sven Bender (Bayer Leverkusen)

The 31-year-old has been one of the best players for Bayer Leverkusen this season. Sven Bender, who has been defensively solid throughout the season, scored his first league goal in the present campaign during his side’s 3-1 win over fellow title contenders Borussia Monchengladbach.

Bender’s impressive performance at both ends of the pitch ensured that Leverkusen leapfrogged Monchengladbach into the fourth spot on the Bundesliga table.

Left-back: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)

The 19-year-old Canadian international has set the Bundesliga 2019-20 on fire with his stunning displays this season. Ideally a winger, Alphonso Davies has been deployed as a left-back in most games by the Bayern Munich think-tank, with the youngster taking to his new role with ease.

The teenager scored one and set up another as Bayern Munich thumped Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 to remain atop the Bundesliga standings.

Central midfielder: Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

The 30-year-old is back to his very best under the management of Hans-Dieter Flick. Thomas Muller, who was struggling for form under previous manager Niko Kovac, has turned his fortunes around to become one of the most important players for Bayern Munich again.

In a crucial game against Eintracht Frankfurt, Muller didn’t disappoint as he scored one and set up another to ensure Bayern won 5-2 and remain four points clear at the top of the league table.

Central midfielder: Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich)

The 25-year-old German international had a great outing alongside Thomas Muller against Frankfurt. Leon Goretzka, who is known for his versatility, started the game as a defensive midfielder in 4-2-3-1 formation for Bayern Munich.

The former Schalke star scored his fourth Bundesliga goal of the season last weekend and dictated the flow of the game from the middle of the park.

Right-wing: Leonardo Bittencourt (Werder Bremen)

The 26-year-old winger, who is on loan from 1899 Hoffenheim, scored the only goal of the game as Werder Bremen edged out Freiburg 1-0. Leonardo Bittencourt was a constant threat in an entertaining match between two sides struggling for form.

He is one of the rare shining lights for Bremen, who are 17th on the Bundesliga table and fighting for his survival.

Left-wing: Raphael Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund)

The Portuguese international made it to our Bundesliga 2019-20 Team of the Week for the second consecutive time. Raphael Guerreiro, who netted a brace in Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 win over Schalke in the previous matchday, was in sublime form against Wolfsburg, opening the scoring in the 32nd minute.

The 26-year-old, who started the game as a wing-back, also helped his side keep a clean sheet, with BVB winning the encounter 2-0.

Striker: Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen)

The sensational German joins Raphael Guerreiro to appear on our Bundesliga 2019-20 Team of the Week for the second straight time. In a crunch game against Borussia Monchengladbach, the young striker scored twice to help Bayer Leverkusen win 3-1.

Kai Havertz was a constant threat throughout the game and his brace ensured Leverkusen finished the matchday in the fourth and final Champions League spot.

Striker: Timo Werner (RB Leipzig)

One of the best strikers on the planet at this moment, Timo Werner netted a hat-trick in RB Leipzig’s 5-0 rout of Mainz. In his 27 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, the German has scored 24 goals, just three behind Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Golden Boot.

Werner’s form is essential for Leipzig to put up any sort of challenge to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who are ahead of them in the title race.

Here’s the Bundesliga Team of the Week for matchday 27.
