BCCI Allows Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Parents to Accompany Him on Ireland and England Tours

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is at the cusp of making a major leap in his cricketing career. As the young talent gears up to be a part of India’s T20I tours in Ireland and England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has adopted a unique approach of giving him the necessary help during the switch to senior international cricket. In order to make Sooryavanshi comfortable with the change in conditions as he switches from age-group cricket to senior cricket, the Board has decided to send his parents along with him on the tour, covering all the expenses.

BCCI has allowed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s parents to travel with the 15-year-old sensation, they said, “As he is a child, we have decided to allow his parents to accompany him to Ireland and England, so that they can be with him and help him settle in the new environment. The Board will cover all their expenses.”

As Sooryavanshi begins to gear up for his international career, he finds himself involved in a hectic schedule. Currently, he is a part of the India A team which is participating in a tri-series in Sri Lanka. Apart from being a part of the team which will tour Ireland and England, he has also been included in the teams participating in the Asian Games.

From IPL Dominance to India Selection: Vaibhav’s Journey

Sooryavanshi Breaks 36-Year-Old Record

On the other hand, the selection of Sooryavanshi has written history already. The Bihar batsman has become the youngest cricketer selected for the Indian national team, breaking an all-time record that had stood for 36 years, which was held by none other than Sachin Tendulkar before. The rise to fame has been fueled due to his excellent performance in different formats and different levels of cricket.

His first success arrived in the form of being the highest run-scorer in the entire IPL 2026 edition with a staggering total of 776 runs. During the IPL 2026 edition, he scored a century and five fifties. Additionally, he won several awards including Orange Cap, Emerging Player, Most Valuable Player, Best Strike Rate, and Most Number of Sixes in a single IPL edition award.

Selectors and Officials Praise Vaibhav’s Impressive Performances

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar was all-praise for Sooryavanshi, as he said, “I think he has just picked himself, really. With his performances, he has almost forced us to pick him with how well he has played. For a young kid… I don’t need to talk about how well he is playing. And it’s not just this season. He obviously had a great start last season.”

Furthermore, India’s selectors believe the teenager earned his place through performance alone. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said Sooryavanshi had effectively made the decision easy through his impact in one of the toughest T20 competitions in the world. He highlighted the batter’s ability to change games, handle pressure and deliver consistently despite his young age.

BCCI officials have also stressed the importance of supporting him beyond cricket. The board believes family presence can help him settle into the senior dressing room and manage the challenges of international travel. As Sooryavanshi prepares for his first stint with the senior team, the focus is not only on his talent but also on ensuring a smooth transition into the next phase of his career.
