Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin as they aim to replace their first-choice right-back Nelson Semedo.
According to Catalan daily, SPORT, Barcelona have held talks with Arsenal technical director Edu about the La Masia graduate’s potential return to the Camp Nou.
Barcelona face competition from PSG, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich
Arsenal are open to selling their 25-year-old right-back in order to raise funds for manager Mikel Arteta’s primary transfer targets. According to multiple reports, the Gunners have given the green light to shift out the former La Masia defender.
As per multiple reports in England, the Arsenal defender has been heavily linked with a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain, who have reportedly put forward a bid of £25m for the Spaniard.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen have made a surprise entry in the race to sign Hector Bellerin and are believed to have the financial firepower after selling Kai Havertz to Chelsea last week. Fellow Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich have also been credited with showing interest in luring Bellerin away from the Emirates.
As per SPORT’s report, Barcelona have also entered the race to sign their former academy product. The report even goes on to claim that Arsenal have informed Barcelona to pay a transfer fee of around €20m to sign Bellerin.
However, at present, Barcelona are unable to raise the funds for Bellerin as they are still looking to shift out Nelson Semedo, who has truly underperformed since joining the Catalan giants from Benfica three-years back.
It still remains to be seen whether the La Liga outfit are really interested in getting the services of the 25-year-old, or it is just one of those routine Hector Bellerin to Barcelona transfer talks.
