Bangladesh and Afghanistan might not exactly be powerhouses as far as Test match cricket is concerned but can certainly do more than just pack a punch. And while the former side had just recently made history by beating for the first time ever Australia in Australia in a 2-Test series, it appears as though Afghanistan have also got the chance to contest against the surprisingly competitive team that caught the Aussies by a surprise.
And speaking of surprises, perhaps there can’t be a better than the recently announced Test match encounter between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, which truth be told, will be the first time ever that two of these Asian sides get to lock horns in the game’s most arduous test and the most acerbic challenge!
Yes, you read that right and sans any corrections needed, whatsoever.
With talents like Tanzid, Mehidy, Litton, Taijul among the others on the one hand and Rashid Khan, Gulbadin, Gurbaz, and the others on the other hand of the spectrum, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are all set to create history.
And though the duration of the series, one must confess, is going to be all too brief with there being just a one-off Test involved, it’s going to be the first time ever that the two teams play red ball top tier international cricket.
