India’s explosive young batter Abhishek Sharma gave fans a glimpse of his ongoing vacation with legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. The duo have been currently enjoying a relaxing getaway in Sardinia, Italy. The stylish holiday includes golf, sightseeing, local food and plenty of downtime. The talented left-hander shared several pictures from the trip on Instagram. One picture showed the two cricketers posing together near their luxurious accommodation. Another captured them enjoying time outdoors. The vacation has also highlighted the close mentor-student relationship between the two Punjab cricketers. Singh has played an important role in the younger batter’s development and has regularly guided him throughout his career.
Abhishek Sharma was last seen in the India vs Zimbabwe T20I series where India dominated the hosts with a 3-0 win. Even though the team redeemed themselves after the series losses against England and Ireland, Sharma particularly has had mixed performances till now. In the series against Zimbabwe, the explosive opener could manage only 11 runs across three matches. He also struggled during the tour of England for T20I and his only memorable performance came as 59 runs off 34 balls in the first match. However, the fearless left-hander responded emphatically in domestic cricket. Representing Amritsar in the Punjab Inter-District Senior One-Day Tournament, he smashed a breathtaking 233 off just 91 deliveries against Tarn Taran. His astonishing innings contained 15 fours and 25 sixes, producing a strike rate above 256.

Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly and veteran all rounder Yuvraj Singh were spotted in Bengaluru. They were spotted ahead of the Delhi Capitals’ trials for the 2027 season. Their presence has sparked rumours of a major change in the management of the IPL franchise. The veteran players were present at the Just Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and were actively assessing the players. The experienced left-hander was seen closely observing and guiding batters from behind the umpire. Ganguly was also involved alongside new coaching staff member Amit Mishra. Neither the franchise nor the former India stars have officially confirmed their future roles.
Reports have suggested that the former India skipper could take up a senior position, potentially as head coach or director of cricket. The decorated all-rounder could reportedly join him as batting coach. Such a reunion would bring together two of India’s most influential white-ball figures. Ganguly has already worked extensively within the Capitals ecosystem. He became JSW Sports’ director of cricket in 2024 and has been involved with Pretoria Capitals in SA20. Meanwhile, the accomplished 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup Player of the Tournament has increasingly mentored young batters, including Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. The potential coaching reset comes after Delhi Capitals finished sixth in IPL 2026 and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
