Arteta Plays Key Role as Arsenal Target Vinicius Junior Transfer From Real Madrid: Reports

Arsenal have reportedly made Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior one of their main transfer priorities, with manager Mikel Arteta personally involved in the club’s efforts to bring the Brazilian player to the Arsenal club. According to ESPN, Real Madrid are willing to consider offers for Vinicius this summer if the 26-year-old does not agree for a new contract. The report says that Arsenal see Vinicius as a potential face of their attack and believe Arteta’s vision could convince him to make the move to North London. Spanish newspaper AS has also reported that Arteta has spoken directly with Vinícius about his potential role at Arsenal.

Arsenal are believed to be offering him the chance to become the key player of their long-term project, something they feel may not be fully guaranteed at Real Madrid. Mikel Arteta refused to give anything away about his club’s reported pursuit of Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior but said he expects more moves before the end of the summer transfer window. He was asked by a reporter in a light-hearted exchange on Saturday when Vinicius would be joining the Premier League champions, Arteta simply laughed before walking off.

Vinicius Junior Returns to Real Madrid Training Amid Transfer Speculation

Brazil star Vinicius Junior returned to Real Madrid training on Monday as uncertainty continues to surround his future at the club. He was back at the Valdebebas training ground after his holiday following the World Cup, completing medical tests before joining the squad. As of now, Vinicius remains a Real Madrid player and no final decision has been made regarding his next move. However, with just one year left on his current contract, Real Madrid face an important period as they look to either secure his renewal or prepare for the possibility of his departure.

The Real Madrid club posted on its website confirming that Vinicius has joined the side after the World Cup. The statement read  “Viní Jr. and Brahim [Diaz] have rejoined Real Madrid after their participation in the World Cup. The two players went to the Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital this morning for their medical examinations, before completing their first training session under [new coach Jose] Mourinho.”

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the situation, with Arteta hoping his personal approach and the promise of a leading role could persuade Vinicius that Arsenal is the best place for the next stage of his career. Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Fiorentina in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday and the team will next face Ferencvaros in Budapest on Saturday and Vinicius Junior is expected to feature in that game ahead of the upcoming La Liga season.
