England Announce Unchanged Playing XI for 3rd T20I Against India at Trent Bridge

England has revealed their playing XI for the third T20I against India, sticking with the same lineup that secured a four-wicket victory in the last match. The home team has opted for an unchanged eleven for this crucial showdown at Trent Bridge on Tuesday, aiming to solidify their lead in the five-match series. Currently, England is ahead 1-0 after the first T20I was rained out and they triumphed in the second at Old Trafford in Manchester. This choice shows the team management’s trust in a well-established squad as they gear up for another significant battle.

This decision follows a successful chase of 191 runs in Manchester, where Harry Brook set the tone with an aggressive innings. Jacob Bethell played a key role, anchoring the innings with an impressive unbeaten 76 off 46 balls, earning him the Player of the Match title. Tom Banton also contributed valuable runs, while Sam Curran shone with the ball, helping to limit India to 190/7.

England’s playing 11: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, Harry Brook (C), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue

How Can India Level the Series in 3rd T20I vs England?

India is set to zero in on the areas that let them down in the second T20I. They kicked off strong, racking up 65 runs during the powerplay and reaching 130/3 after 13 overs. But as the innings progressed, the momentum slipped away, with only 60 runs added in the last seven overs, leaving them short of a competitive total on a pitch that favored batters. Ishan Kishan contributed with 49 runs off 40 balls at a strike rate of 122.50, while Tilak Varma’s quickfire 24 off just 11 deliveries highlighted the benefits of aggressive batting. It might be wise for India to promote a quicker scorer during the middle overs to keep the pressure on, rather than letting it dwindle after a solid start.

On the bowling front, sharper execution is a must. Ravi Bishnoi gave away 60 runs in four overs, including a damaging 29-run 17th over that featured three no-balls, which swung the match in England’s favor. Harshit Rana didn’t take any wickets, and while Arshdeep Singh picked up three, he also let in 40 runs. To find better balance, India could consider bringing in Washington Sundar or adding another seamer. Improving control during the middle overs, maintaining bowling discipline, and finishing strong with the bat will be crucial if India wants to level the series at Trent Bridge.
