This came with the backing of a brilliant 36-ball hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the fastest ton recorded in IPL history. He was the first batsman to reach the 1,000-run mark in the shortest possible time, scoring the required number of runs in only 440 balls. In the playoffs, he made match-winning efforts of 97 runs from 29 balls in the Eliminator and 96 runs from 47 balls in Qualifier 2.
What is more, Sooryavanshi turned out to be the youngest-ever Orange Cap winner in the history of IPL. Furthermore, he became the first-ever cricketer to receive both Emerging Player and MVP awards in a single season of the IPL.
