Esteban Ocon has made it official that he will leave Haas at the end of the season. In a social media post, the French driver announced that his time with the Haas F1 Team will finish at the end of the 2026 season. He leaves with his head held high, proud of the performances he delivered even when circumstances were not always ideal and factors outside his control made life tougher. Ocon was clear that the rest of this season still matters. His focus stays on the next race weekend and plans to keep working hard with the team, squeeze every last bit of performance from the car, and give everything for himself and the squad.
“I am still motivated. I am still hungry. This is absolutely not the end of my Formula 1 career,” he wrote. Haas confirmed the split and thanked him for his contribution since joining from Alpine at the start of 2025. Team principal Ayao Komatsu highlighted Ocon’s professionalism and the value of his experience during a major regulation change year.
Esteban Ocon’s Formula 1 career
Born in 1996 in Evreux, France, Ocon came through the junior ranks by winning the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2014 ahead of Max Verstappen and the GP3 Series in 2015. He made his F1 debut with Manor in 2016, then spent two seasons at Force India. After a year as Mercedes reserve in 2019, he returned with Renault (later Alpine) in 2020.
His biggest moment came in 2021 with victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He collected further podiums, including Monaco in 2023, before moving to Haas for 2025 alongside Oliver Bearman. Across nearly 200 starts he has one win, four podiums and close to 500 points. With several races still left in 2026, Ocon is determined to finish strongly. His future beyond Haas remains open but it is clear that he wants to do well for the rest of the season
