Round 14 of the current formula one season takes us to Spain, the famous Fernando loan, Carlos Sainz Jr Land. It could have very well-being in the 15th Raj Bhatt. We have to remember that the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix much earlier. This year has been cancelled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which involves America. But Spain, which has had the thrill and the sheer delight of hosting two Grand Prix this season, which includes this second race of 2026, is also bringing us to embrace a brand new circuit.
Yes, you read that right. F1’s newest circuit on the great or calendar. Since the last Vegas Grand Prix happens to the brand-new track at Madrid, the Spanish capital city.
The mattering, as it’s called is a new street track that has elements of Azerbaijan, Jeddah, and other tracks punctuated by several slow and medium fast corners, and not so necessarily elongated straights.
In what can be expected to be an action packed and perhaps even incident fuelled F1 race, the Madring sees the McLaren defending world champion Lando Norris on pole.

Grabbing a sensational, chart-topping pool position, the first ever in the history of this newest racing venue, Norris insured that the nose of the McLaren was Ahead in front of Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes.
Followed by Max Verstappen in his Red Bull in third and then, the two Ferraris of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in fourth and fifth, it is a powerful and exciting top five standing for the inaugural Madring event.
George Russell, who was struggling for adaptability on Saturday to this testing venue will find himself as having lost a bit of an opportunity to attack yesterday; the Briton begins his maiden Madring Spanish Grand Prix 2026 from sixth.
The Madring Circuit in Madrid is set to become one of Formula 1’s most exciting and technically demanding venues. Featuring 22 turns across a challenging layout, the circuit combines fast straights with a series of technical corners that will demand precision from drivers and engineers alike.
One of its most talked-about sections is the spectacular banked corner known as “La Monumental”, which is expected to provide a unique challenge rarely seen in modern Formula 1. The track also features several narrow sections and rapid changes in direction, leaving little room for mistakes.
With a mix of speed, technical complexity and overtaking opportunities, Madring promises to test every aspect of a driver’s ability. As Formula 1 prepares to race in Madrid, fans can expect a circuit that rewards bravery, skill and consistency.
But having said all of that, can we expect a two way fight where Lando Norris of McLaren takes on a blazing battle with Kimi Antonelli, our championship leader on the one hand with the Ferraris and Red Bull battling for supremacy on the other hand?
Well, there is so much to see what lies ahead. What’ll be very interesting to see is where the two noted Spanish drivers finish today’s maiden run at the Madring with Sainz and Alonso having not exactly packed a punch yesterday!
