It’s been over a decade since the Cars franchise appeared on big screen. However, characters such as Lightning McQueen, Mater and the rest of the squad became some of Pixar’s most recognisable characters. Even though the franchise came up with multiple new projects and collaborations, the popularity of Cars remained strong.
Now, a new name has joined the party with renowned athleisure brand Adidas’ launch of Pixar Cars collection. The brand’s newly launched collection includes characters such as Lightning McQueen and Mater. It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iconic Cars movie.
Lightning McQueen Gets Featured on Soccer Cleats; Mater Gets on Football Cleats
The collaboration covers two spots, with one design made for soccer and other for American football. Lightning McQueen has been featured over the adiZeroII soccer cleats, and features the signature red colourway with iconic flame graphics and No. 95 displayed across the upper. Not only this, but the tongue of the shoes feature the headlights.
On the other hand, Mater has been featured on adiZero Impact II football cleats, with its eyes placed on the extended tongue alongside a tooth-inspired detail. It also features grey detailing of the character with its brown and green tones. The shoes are available on Adidas’ website for members. The Lightning McQueen comes at a price of $130, while the Mater edition comes at $110.
