Indian skipper Surya Kumar Yadav has gathered a lot of eyeballs after actress Khushi Mukherjee revealed his name during an interview and mentioned that Yadav messaged her a lot. The statement attracted multiple varied opinions on social media with Surya Kumar Yadav facing the heat.
Fans expressed their views on the same while questioning the relationship between the cricketer and the actress. Mukherjee said, “So many cricketers were after me. Surya Kumar Yadav used to message me a lot, but we don’t talk much now. I don’t even want to be associated and I don’t like any linkups,”
Her statement has not just spread like a wildfire, but has also brought her the world of trouble. While a lot of people have criticized the actress for her derogatory remarks, a defamation suit has made things even worse.
In an interview with NDTV, Mukherjee spoke more about this matter and said that there wasn’t any ‘romantic relationship’ between the two and her statements were misinterpreted. He said that she spoke with the cricketer only as a ‘friend’ and they are no longer in touch.
However, the damage is already done and her clarification hardly holds any value.
Surya Kumar Yadav’s response
In reply to Khushi Mukherjee’s interview, Surya Kumar Yadav has filed a Rs100 crore defamation lawsuit in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. The lawsuit has been filed by Faizan Ansari who believes Mukherjee’s words have spoiled the cricketer’s reputation and goodwill among his fans and well wishers. Ansari has urged Ghazipur SP Dr. Iraj Raja to take the actress into immediate custody.
As of now, neither Khushi Mukerjee or Surya Kumar Yadav have opened up about the entire episode, but are most likely to break silence very soon. Since the lawsuit has been filed by a third party and not by the cricketer, it remains to be seen how the entire scenario unfolds. We don’t have a clear picture about whether there will be any judicial proceedings for this matter.
