Team India won the second test match between India and England at Lord’s by 151 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. India had set a target of 272 runs in front of England, but the hosts were reduced to a score of just 120 runs.
This was only the third victory of the Indian cricket team at the historic ground of Lord’s. Earlier, the team created history by winning the Lord’s Test by five wickets in 1986 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev and 95 runs under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2014.

If you were not watching the 2nd test, we’d like to share that Team India’s victory was really special. At one point in the fourth day’s play, it seemed that perhaps the match was going out of the hands of Team India, but it is rightly said that ‘cricket is a game of uncertainties’. India made a strong comeback in the match and won the match by 151 runs, beating England all four.
After India’s victory, all the players of the team expressed their reaction through social media. Some looked very emotional, while some called this Test match memorable.
Bumrah-Shami’s grand welcome at Lord’s Pavilion
The Lord’s Test played between India and England was named after Team India. On the final day’s play, fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah won everyone’s heart with their batting. The duo shared a record unbeaten 89 runs for the 9th wicket. Shami scored an unbeaten 54 off 70 balls and Bumrah scored an unbeaten 34 off 64 balls.
Shami and Bumrah, who played a memorable partnership of 89 runs, got a warm welcome in the dressing room. On the fifth day, when both the players reached the dressing room after the end of the first session, the teammates gave a standing ovation to them and gave them a grand welcome. From head coach Ravi Shastri to captain Virat Kohli, everyone was seen congratulating Shami-Bumrah.
The unbeaten 89-run partnership between Shami and Bumrah was India’s highest partnership for the 9th wicket at Lord’s. Before this pair, in 1982, Kapil Dev and Madan Lal had added 66 runs for the 9th wicket. Along with this, it was also India’s biggest partnership for the 9th wicket on England soil.
On the basis of this partnership, Team India set a target of 272 runs in front of England, and the hosts were reduced to a score of just 120 runs in the game of 51.5 overs and the Indian team won this match by a huge margin of 151 runs.
