A new Premier League season is almost upon us. By next weekend, all our favourite teams will return to the pitch, doing their best to outdo their last-season exploits. For some, it’d be a race for the Premier League title, while a few others would do their best to stay in the English top-flight.
With renewed hope and drama, the new Premier League season will also bring some snazzy new threads. And today, it’s all about taking a look and being judgemental. Here are the 2020/21 Premier League kits, ranked.
#20 Crystal Palace
Well, we can see what Crystal Palace went for here, but we can’t say we’re impressed with their classic take. The white kit is still acceptable, but the stripes on the other two aren’t impressive, at all.
#19 West Bromwich Albion
West Brom tried to go for a cool “barcode” aesthetics, and we can’t say it looks astonishing. The shades pop, sure, but Puma could’ve done better, we think.

Newcastle United’s kit is simply an unpleasant clash of colours and design. While the home kit is kept classic, the away and third would’ve worked better as goalkeeper kits.

One of the lesser-known names in the world of football kits, Hummels has gone with a rather retro theme with Everton. Not bad, not great.

#16 West Ham United
The London outfit are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year, and they’re commemorating the occasion with a plain design and massive crest.

#15 Leeds United
Leeds United have returned to the Premier League after 16 seasons and want to keep their place amongst the elites for as long as possible. They’d fight their battles at Elland Road in this simple home kit.
#14 Burnley
The Clarets have released a respectable kit for the 2020/21 campaign, with a very impressive collar. The manufacturer, Umbro, probably could’ve done a little better with the sponsor design, though.
#13 Chelsea
Chelsea were one of the first clubs to release their kits, which, sadly, didn’t bid well for them. That huge 3 UK logo turned their kit into a meme in only a few minutes, and we can’t blame the netizens for it.

Except for the sleeves, Adidas hasn’t experimented much with Leicester City’s kit. It also has a massive sponsor space, but that doesn’t seem much in front of Chelsea’s homage to their kit sponsor.

#11 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolves have gone with a laid-back retro design for this year, and we have no qualms about it. The away kit is a little all over the place, but the home one is quite magnificent.

#10 Brighton and Hove Albion
After surviving the gruesome 2019/20 campaign, Brighton will be hoping for better fortunes with this year’s changed all-blue — and a little white — retro kit. The yellow away kit is also very eye-catching.

The Premier League champions have already tried out their new home kit this season in the FA Community Shield. The match didn’t go as planned, of course, but the Liverpool boys did look ravishing in the new kit.

Another excellent retro addition to this season’s roster, Arsenal’s new Adidas kit is one of the best they’ve had in recent years. The away kit is a lot bolder, but it’s not bad by any means.

Clean crest, classic black and white, and an easy-on-the-eye design language — there’s not much to complain about this Fulham kit. The Sponsor logo might throw a few off, but it’s what keeps the “family club” going.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side need to up their ante this season, and if the new kit is anything to go by, we’re in for a ride. Both the Manchester United home and away kits are quite spectacular and look rather menacing.

Aston Villa has produced a stunning kit for the 2020/21 campaign, without even tinkering too much with the basics. The claret-blue combination looks stunning as ever, while the black away kit screams subtlety and suave.

Like West Ham United, Southampton, too, is celebrating an anniversary — their 135th. To mark the occasion, Southampton have turned back the clock and reintroduced a classic white and red home kit. The away blue and yellow is also a thing of beauty.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side may have finished behind Liverpool the last term, but they are certainly stealing their thunder with this season’s illustrious kits. The home kit is not that impressive, to be honest, but the away kit is undoubtedly inspiring.

There’s something about beautifully-crafted green kits that we can’t seem to ignore. Tottenham, with their gorgeous green away threads, have captured that essence beautifully. The home kit, too, is classy and sophisticated in its own right.

Sheffield United may not be the biggest name in the Premier League, but they have quite easily managed to top our kits table. The home kit with red and white stripes looks stunning, sure, but it’s the salmon away kit that takes the cake. A masterpiece.
